Unsatisfied the things you detest linger on your tongue.
Things you never thought you’d say or have to say come spilling out of your mouth.
Not in your right mind, you’re wrong and will never be right.
The decisions made today were what you thought were right for yesterday.
Ideas in your head jumbled like pieces of paper crumbled on the floor.
You repeat the same things over and over and no matter how many times you write it down it never sounds right.
You force pen to paper, hoping the right words will spell out in front of you in ink.
Retracing the lines and the words, you’ve forgotten what steps you’ve taken that have gotten you here.
You know the words, but they don’t process.
You know what needs to be said, you know the reality but somehow you let it escape you.
Within reach and readily available but inaccessible.
The further you leap the harder you fall, a damsel in distress and a relic through it all.
Unsatisfactory, unacceptable, unforgivable.
You want to explode but you can’t detonate. You have the fuse but can’t muster the stability to light it.
You know the combination but can’t apply it.
Waving the flag of mercy, you surrender.
